Gateway Team Rising at Ledgestone & AM Worlds

Gateway Players Rising Through the Ranks

This August, the disc-golf world had its eyes on two of the sport’s biggest stages: the Ledgestone Open and the Amateur World Championships. Both events showcased not only the depth of talent across the sport, but also the grit, heart, and steady progress of Gateway team players competing against some of the best in the world.

Ledgestone: Borzick’s Breakthrough

At Ledgestone, Gateway’s Jon Borzick tied for 19th place in a stacked MPO field of roughly 155 elite players — a top-20 finish at one of the largest pro tournaments of the year. Leading into Ledgestone, Jon won 3 A-Tier tournaments in a row showing incredible momentum!

Jon’s journey is the kind of story that we love to support: a summer spent playing nearly every day with his dad, steady skill-building since 2019, and a commitment to tournament performances that culminated into this breakout streak. Congratulations, Jon! Go check out his Instagram for a recent in the bag video to see what he's throwing as he tears up the midwest!

Qualifying for Ledgestone is itself a milestone, and several Team Gateway players like Nina Guerrero, Danny Beauchamp, Sam Smigiel, and Kevin Fodrey earned their spots through hard work and strong regional play. It’s not always about the trophy — showing up, competing, and rising through the ranks matters just as much. Way to represent yourselves, Gateway, and the sport! We encourage all our supporters to follow the team, share photos and stories, and celebrate every step up the ranks on social media platforms.

AM Worlds Disc Golf Championship Here in Missouri:

AM Worlds was held here in Missouri and we got the chance to see so many of our team members competing, visiting the shop, and at the various flymarts. We LOVED seeing all the players fighting for strong finishes and competing with the best amateurs in the world. Congratulations to Hayden Carroll on taking down MA1, our very own Austin Gehrke for taking down the putting title, and Therese Cuevas on taking down the FA1 world title!

It was amazing to be so close to the action and getting to drive over and take in all the action. Congratulations to all competitors on taking part in another phenomenal Amateur World Championships! We were happy to support and sponsor coverage at Worlds this year, so keep an eye out for all the coverage coming from Gatekeeper Media.

Jax Roofing Presents, The Cardinal Clash, Powered by Flight Lab

Director of Marketing and Tour Team member, Kevin Fodrey hosted a massive B-tier tournament in Fort Wayne, Indiana on the Concordia Seminary Disc Golf Course with 18 temp holes! This event had a lot of awesome sponsors and brought out a very competitive field in all divisions represented! Gateway was happy to be the coverage sponsor, so keep an eye out for post produced coverage coming from C2 Productions out of Indianapolis to see both Kevin Fodrey and Aidan Hosler on feature card coverage round 1 and an exhilarating round 2 finish!

This event had the new proto 99a (9/6/-1/2) as the players pack, along with a Dot from Flight Lab, one of our proprietary molding partners. The discs were a hit and we got a ton of messages from players telling us how much they LOVED the new mold and the Dot! You're going to want to try both of these molds!

If you're looking for custom players pack discs for your tournament, nobody has faster turnaround times or better customer service than our team here at Gateway. Come see for yourself and email Cory@GDSTour.com to start your custom stamping project!
